Contest Rules

A One Year Free Mortgage As a Gift


Subject to applicable laws, these rules govern all aspects of the A ONE YEAR MORTGAGE AS A GIFT contest and are binding on all entrants. 


The ONE YEAR MORTGAGE AS A GIFT contest begins February 7, 2019, and ends December 31, 2019, at 11:59 p.m., EST. 


To be eligible for the contest, you must:
Have reached the age of majority and be a resident of the province of Québec.
Not be an employee of Multi-Prêts, or any other subsidiary, advertising agency or promotional agency, or be living at the same address as the above-mentioned persons and/or be a dependent of any such person.


Complete the entry form between February 7, 2019, and December 31, 2019, at 11:59 p.m., EST. Limit of one entry per person per civic address.

The participant has 3 ways to be granted participation in the draw:

1. By writing his/her mortgage renewal date or the anticipated property acquisition date.

2. By agreeing to be contacted by Multi-Prêts Hypothèques.

3.  By contracting a mortgage through our intermediary before December 31, 2019 (final mortgage approval). Consequently, a maximum of three participations can be obtained and granted per person, per entry.

No purchase required. You can enter by sending us your complete contact information and your mortgage renewal date or a 50-word text explaining “Why you deserve a chance to win” to the “ONE YEAR MORTGAGE AS A GIFT” contest, 525, Viger Ouest, suite 502, Montréal, Québec, H2Z 0B2, making sure to include your name, address, municipality, postal code, phone number and email address (optional). The text must be postmarked no later than December 31, 2019, the contest closing date. Limit of one entry per person per civic address.


12 monthly mortgage payments with a maximal value of $1,500 per month for a period of 12 months (principal and interest) totalizing a maximum amount of $18,000. The payments will be granted upon proof of monthly mortgage payments under the name of the winner or any other legal proof. The given payments to the winner will be based on the monthly amount written on the mortgage statement of the prizewinner up to a maximal amount of $1,500$ monthly.  If the contest winner does not have a mortgage, an amount of $18,000 will be awarded to the victor. 

The confirmed winner will be responsible for all tax implications arising from acceptance of the prize, as well as any damages of any sort that may arise from the acceptance or use of the prize. Multi-Prêts reserves the right, at its sole discretion, and for any reason whatsoever, to replace the prize or a portion of with another prize of equal or greater value, including a cash prize.


On January 21, 2020 at 3 p.m., at 14 Place du Commerce, suite 600, Île-des-Sœurs, Québec, H3E 1T5, a random electronic draw for the winner will be held from among all eligible contest entries, i.e., from among all entries that comply with the terms and conditions described in these Contest Rules. The odds of winning depend on the number of entries in the contest and the number of eligible texts received during the contest period.


After the draw, the declared winner will be informed by phone of the way in which the prize will be remitted. Before being declared the winner, the person will have to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question. An entrant who gives an incorrect answer will be automatically disqualified. If the answer is incorrect or the entrant is ineligible for any other reason, the prize will be cancelled.

7.1 For an entrant to be declared the “confirmed winner,” he or she must:
Be reached by phone by the organizers of the Multi-Prêts contest within ten (10) business days after the date of the draw specified in section 6 of the Contest Rules.
Meet the terms and conditions set out in sections 2, 3 and 4 of the Contest Rules.
Correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question asked on the phone by the organizers of the Multi-Prêts contest or on the Multi-Prêts declaration and release form.
Sign the Multi-Prêts declaration and release form sent by mail, email or fax and return it to the contest organizers at the address indicated within one (1) day following its posting by Multi-Prêts.

7.2    Disqualification. If the entrant violates any of the terms and conditions mentioned above, he or she will be disqualified and will not receive a prize. In such a case, Multi-Prêts reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to draw at random, by electronic or any other means, another entrant as the potential winner, or to cancel the prize.

7.3    Possession. The prize will be remitted to the winner within 60 days of receipt by Multi-Prêts of the declaration and release form signed by the selected contestant. 


The prize must be accepted as is, and no substitute prize or transfer of the prize to another person will be allowed. 


Multi-Prêts, the contest organizers and their authorized representatives will not accept any liability whatsoever in any cases where their inability to act results from a fact or situation beyond their control or is the result of a strike, lockout or other labour conflict in their facilities, or in organizations or companies whose services were employed for the purposes of this contest. 


The contest organizers and Multi-Prêts waive all liability with respect to losses, damages or prejudice arising from the awarding of the prizes in this contest. The official contest rules are available at 14 Place du Commerce, suite 600, Île-des-Sœurs, Québec, H3E 1T5. This contest is subject to all applicable municipal, provincial and federal laws and regulations.


By entering the contest, the confirmed winner authorizes Multi-Prêts, its subsidiaries, the contest organizers and their authorized representatives, as the case may be, to use his or her name and/or photo and/or video for advertising purposes, without compensation.


Multi-Prêts reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, cancel, terminate or suspend this contest in whole or in part.


Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties to reach a settlement.
